Ark ps4 difficulty level

So i read from the ark wiki page that the difficulty can go to 10. When i enter 6 and start my single player world and leave. The difficulty goes back down to 1 and the dinos dont go higher than 150. Do i have to change this in the game files to stay? Also raising the difficulty raises the max dino level right? < >
