Scatter nades can kill quicker to proc Devour in a pinch, but Vortex lasts longer and keeps the debuff up longer. A lot of the fun warlock builds for me involve ability spam. And you can find something like that on every class. Void: Contraverse hold. Solar: Sunbracers or starfire. Arc: Fallen Sunstar.
