Jul 23, 2019 · Camping Options. Camping is the only way to stay overnight at the parks. The only way to spend the night in the parks is to stay at a developed campground (reservations recommended), or hike to a backcountry campsite (free permit required). We have no hotels or lodges in the park. There are plenty of lodging and camping options outside the park. A small portion of State Route 254, the Avenue of the Giants, is fully closed to all traffic between Lum Street in Weott and the. Marin Garden Club Grove (post mile markers 18.44 to 18.57). Much of the Avenue of the Giants is still accessible. There is no estimated time for reopening.
