Screenwriting and Screenplay Reviews, contests, interviews, agents. A couple weeks back I got the idea for a Reader Top 25 - a sort of definitive word on the best screenplays that hadn't yet made it to the big screen.

Scriptshadow. It’s time for my main gripe and my call to Scriptshadow readers to help me out with this. This movie is dependent on the Cop Cam POV changes being organic and believable. And I had a few issues there. For starters, I wasn’t sure why Marcella would take the cop cam. My thinking would be that it could be traced.

A couple of promising things going on with today’s script. First, the script is co-written by Brooks McLaren, who wrote one of my favorite early scripts on Scriptshadow, How it Ends. It was a super fast read with a determined hero shooting across a United States which was quickly becoming overwhelmed by a mysterious apocalyptic event.

Premise: (from Black List) A Black amateur bodybuilder struggles to find human connection in this exploration of celebrity and violence. About: Elijah Bynum got a couple of great actors to act in his debut film, Hot Summer Nights: Maika Monroe and Timothee Chalamet. This looks to be his next film.Which is exactly what happened with Poor Things. It helps that this is unlike any movie I’ve ever seen before. Let me give you an idea of how weird this movie is: I almost walked out in the first ten minutes. The cinematography, music, and acting were so jarring that I felt like I was going to vomit. Pizza Girl by Jean Kyoung Frazier. Logline: A pregnant pizza delivery girl becomes infatuated with a customer, a mother desperately trying to raise a son on her own. Writer: Chris Sparling.Point A to Point B gets repetitive quickly. No One Will Save You has one stand-out set piece, which occurs on the bus when Brynn is trying to escape town. The mailman (who was set up earlier as a creepy guy) ends up getting on the bus as well and we see him seated far back behind Brynn, who is unaware of his presence.
