The attorney for confessed Starved Rock murderer Chester Weger says he has what he calls “bombshell” evidence that exonerates Weger of the infamous 1960 murders at Starved Rock State Park. Three women were found slaughtered in the snow in St. Louis Canyon early that year. Later, a jury found Weger guilty of murdering Lillian Oetting.
New evidence in the exoneration case of paroled Chester Weger shows he is innocent of the 1960 Starved Rock Park murders, according to his attorney. In a story by the Chicago Sun Times, and a recent podcast by Weger’s lawyer Andrew Hale, the case now turns to the Will County special prosecution team for exoneration.
Hale also plans to submit a piece of hair found on one of the murder victims that he claims isn't Wegers to genealogy sites and a state DNA database.
